About Wheeler, MS - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Wheeler, Mississippi is located in Prentiss County, and it is an unincorporated community. This is one of six unincorporated communities in the county, but Prentiss County is also home to the cities of Baldwyn and Booneville and the towns of Marietta and Jumpertown. Wheeler is most closely located between Booneville and Baldwyn.

Wheeler is a very small community, so there aren’t any notable attractions located here. Fortunately, the remainder of Prentiss County does have some interesting things to see and do, so residents won’t have to travel far to find a good restaurant or shop. For example, neighboring Baldwyn is home to Bumper’s Drive-In and Lula Lee’s, while visitors to Booneville might like to spend some time getting pampered at City Nails Spa or Marita’s Salon and Day Spa. The southeastern portion of Prentiss County is also home to the John Bell Williams Game Management Area, and while the site is primarily used for hunting, it also offers visitors the chance to check out local wildlife such as deer, turkey, beaver, opossum, quail, and waterfowl.

Wheeler is part of a humid subtropical climate zone, and the summer months tend to be hot and muggy. High temperatures generally reach the mid-90s, and the high humidity in the area makes it feel even warmer. This makes it crucial that residents have access to a central air conditioning unit at home. Not only will these systems keep home interiors comfortable, but they can also improve indoor air quality by reducing dust and allergens that are circulating throughout a home. This can lead to a much more comfortable season for people who suffer from allergies and asthma.

Extreme weather patterns also occur in the winter months. While average high temperatures in January, the coldest month of the year, tend to stay in the low-50s, cold fronts do push into the area periodically and can bring along snow and freezing conditions. A heat pump or furnace is an absolute necessity during these times, and without these systems in place, interior temperatures could fall to dangerous levels.
