About Marietta, MS - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Marietta, Mississippi is a small town located in Prentiss County. As of 2013, approximately 260 people called the town home. Some of the closest neighboring communities to Marietta are New Site, Baldwyn, and Booneville, and it is located about 26 miles northeast of Tupelo, Mississippi. The town is also small geographically, consisting of only 1.8 square miles of total area, all of which is land.

Marietta is a very small community, so there aren’t any major attractions located here. However, there are a few notable businesses located in the town, including Kut & Kurl Beauty Shop and the Dollar General Store. Marietta is also home to Ramey’s Family Restaurant, and other restaurant selections including Lamar’s Barbeque and Catering and the Pizza Factory are located in nearby Baldwyn.

The fact that Marietta and the rest of the region are found within a humid subtropical climate zone makes it popular for people looking to escape the colder northern temperatures. In fact, winters in Marietta are cool and short, but that doesn’t mean that residents will enjoy pleasant weather every day. Average temperatures during January usually fall in the low-50s, but overnight lows dip below the freezing point, so residents will still need to have a heat pump or furnace in place to stay comfortable during these times.

After a cool winter, the warm spring months are a welcomed reprieve, but these comfortable conditions won’t last long. Once the summer begins, residents will once again need to utilize a climate control system to stay safe. Summer weather is hot and humid with high temperatures in the 90s, and this can be a dangerous time for residents that don’t take the proper precautions. HVAC professionals recommend the use of an energy efficient central air conditioning unit, and it is further suggested that these systems are serviced annually to ensure optimal functioning.
